A triumphant return of one of the most beloved RPG series of all time - Bard's Tale IV - Barrows Deep - will have you investigate an evil that has hidden in the shadows for a long time - waiting for a hero to face the darkness. Featuring over 40 hours of gameplay, pick your class: Bard, Fighter, Practitioner, and Rogue - each with 60-70 skills and collectively unlocking 21 unique classes. Start with a single class and recruit companions on the way, complementing your play style. The game also features a unique slider system that will let you dictate various aspects of the game (including saving and map features), to make it as difficult or forgiving as you want.

A Most Glorious Return

“The Bard’s Tale 4: Barrows Deep” (“BT4”) is one of those sequels nobody ever expected to happen. While the original trilogy wrapped itself up during the Reagan/Bush era, it apparently didn’t have the staying power to be beaten like a dead horse, as more modern IPs are. Instead, ‘The Bard’s Tale’ went into a deep slumber, rarely spoken of amongst PC gaming grognards who spent the 1980’s playing terrible games and covering their walls with pages of notes and graph paper maps. That is until Brian Fargo, the exiled CEO of InterPlay started fishing for some IPs that his new startup, inExile Entertainment, could use as a stepping stone to get off the ground, back around 2002.
