Doom may have been the original ground breaking FPS, but Goldeneye provided all of the embellishments that made them what they are today. Missions that required marksmanship and stealth as well as a fast trigger finger and its cinematic storyline that stays true to the film were watershed moments in gaming evolution. It does have some niggles; the graphics are definitely showing their age, the witless AI means that many enemies can't even cope with an open door and all of the scenery explodes as if its made of dynamite, regardless of what it is, but it still presents a challenge with a one-more-go-factor that hasn't dulled with age. One of the few truly classic N64 games.
