Finally. This is the Halo we'd been waiting for.
This game is literally a math problem:
Good parts of Halo: Combat Evolved + good parts of Halo 2 = Halo 3.
Taking a good story from the first game, combine it with improved level design from Halo 2 and tie it all up with the series standards of polished graphics, action, and multiplayer; now you've got yourself a game for the ages, and a respectable "end" to the story (ignoring the upcoming Halo 4).
Added elements include new items like a bubble shield or EMP that can play a role in surviving a battle, but really don't make or break anything (personally, I hardly use them).
