The story takes place 20 years after a pandemic wiped out most of the human race. Now the infected attack like rabid animals while roving survivors do everything they can to survive. Joel, a hardened veteran is given a mission to escort a young girl, Ellie, out of an oppressive military quarantine zone. Yet what starts off a seemingly easy task becomes a brutal trek across the ruined U.S. Resources are scarce, choices you make will determine your path, adaptive AI molds you your playing style and "Dynamic Stealth" opportunities all make this third-person oriented game a genre-defining video game experience. This remastered version has improved character models, lighting, shadows and game mechanics - as well as the inclusion of the Left Behind DLC and all map packs.
