A solid game for one or two players. It was fun, but also amazingly hard - friendly fire was just evil and if you managed to get to the bikes, good luck getting any further. If they didn't make it so impossible to win, it could have been great, but it falls just short.

Hard but really fun. It had cool graphics, great sound, solid premise and everything you could ask for in a game. The two player mode was also a plus. What a great game.

2 Player NES Action Doesn't Get Better

Battletoads a is quicker paced, more fun version of double dragon. The animations of the frogs are almost humorous with the gigantic hands and feet, headbutts and the like. You have the ability to sprint, jump high, and repel down walls. The game play is great, the play control is as good, and the story is good enough to make this a great game.
This is arguably the best 2 player game on the NES, too. However, there is a flaw. I have feeling this game wasn't thoroughly test because on one of the last levels where you are on big bikes, if you are still going with 2 players, one of you will die instantly at the beginning of the level because the bike never gets going.
Battletoad's difficulty often gives it a bad name because most people can't handle it. I find it a challenge and …
