Essentially Rogue Squadron meets Doom, Shadows Of The Empire does a pretty good job of emulating the Star Wars universe and although the shooting and FPS sections are probably not quite strong enough to hold up on their own, as alternating sub-games they work well. A free aim option would've improved things but good enough fun as it stands.

As far as I know, the only Star Wars game to also spawn its own original soundtrack - this was great fun for me back in the day. While the controls were nothing to write home about, the story and characters were really good for an original story. Still one of my favorite Star Wars games.

I got this Christmas of 1996 and I played it continuously. I would fall asleep and see the characters from this game. It mostly suffered from bad play control but the Hoth level, Tie levels and many other levels (fight with Bobba Fett) made up for it. Fun game that had some cool unlock features and the ability to play any level once it was beat.
