As you might guess, this game isn't as in-depth as the NES version. However, it has the same feel as the NES Kid Icarus, has good play control, and is a fun play.
This game does a great job of having just a bit of challenge, not being too long (only 4 worlds which isn't a bad thing for a handheld game), and having enough upgrades to keep things interesting.
What gives this game an bit of an extra edge is that it has a save function and it slows down very little which is a big bonus for an original Game Boy game.
Hint: The first boss is the hardest.
