Foto Flash   PC (Steam)

Cheap Thrills and Mild Titillation    3.5/5 stars

When entering games, I come across a lot of crap but it also gives me the chance to find weird, crazy stuff. Sometimes, it allows me to get on the ground floor of a gem (Doki Doki Literature Club) or find a potential multi-player game for the crew. Other times it just is quirky enough to catch my attention. Foto Flash is advertised as a tongue-in-cheek adventure and that's exactly what it is - nothing less, nothing more.

Presentation: The game features mostly pixel art style and is apparently a spiritual successor to some Newsgrounds flash games. While that sounds eye-rollingly stupid, the art style fits the game perfectly. The game is short, it features a only a few separate screens but it has a funky-cool soundtrack, cute artwork and some chuckle-worthy humor. Considering how much absolute crap I come across on Steam, this low-rent adventure stands out and shouldn't be discounted by its limited content.

Story: You are a photographer for a pin-up magazine. You need to get 10 photos for the next issue in a short amount of time or your magazine is going to fold. Thus you set out to wander around town, finding women who are willing to pose - but not without something in return. What? You were expecting War and Peace?

Gameplay: The game is a giant scavenger hunt - your reward is some sexy images. The ten girls represent perfect archtypes - the sporty girl, the surfer chick, the biker babe, the pop star, the goth gamer, the foreign waitress, the nerd, the adventurer, the bimbo and the health nut. Each girl wants something different - find her clothes some perverts stole, make her a healthy drink, find baseballs scattered about, and so on and so forth. This involves a series of tasks - usually involving doing favors for one or more people, in order to get items needed to complete your current task for the various girls. You can easily complete the game in an hour or less. When you complete a task, you get the pin-up photo for said girl - and the artwork is well done and mildly NSFW (nipples and butts).

Replayability: No, not really, but it's fun while it lasts.

Overall: My review title says it all, folks!

Presentation: 4/5
