Splatterhouse gets an added dimension and becomes a 3D scrolling beat 'em up with the same gory graphics that appealed so much to pubescent boys. There's also a mild adventure element as you can choose from multiple routes through the levels which gives it more depth than most examples of the genre, although it's rather too easy thanks to dim-witted monsters and an overly generous number of power ups.
