Dead Nation   PlayStation Network

Want to Kill a Lot of Zombies?.....Here You Go    3/5 stars

Dead Nation is yet another zombie killing game out there. It's not very complicated, there's not much too the story, but that doesn't matter. It's a game where you kill as many zombies as possible, grabbing loot and upgrading your weapons whenever possible.

Taking on a top/down 3rd person perspective, you are able to see a large area and often see the hoards of zombies racing after you giving you at least a moment or two to decide what to do. Although this game does tend to be more on the darker side, limiting what you can see, that's part of the strategy. Since you have flashlights on all your weapons, if you're pointed at your target you can always see what your shooting.

I'm a big fan of not the guns, but the other items you can use to take out zombies. Flares draw enemies, you can make alarms on vehicles go off to draw zombies and then blow them up. Grenades, mines, and Molotov Cocktails are all great, too.

The online content was done well, too. You can see how many zombies are being/have been killed by each country, listing who has killed the most. Co-op play is top notch, it can be argued that the game was designed for co-op since you can cover each other. It's also set up well for playing in short spurts, which isn't found very often anymore.

There's not much to the game other than figuring out how to kill large numbers of zombies, limiting the overall quality to the game. But, if that's what you feel like doing for a while, it can be a lot of fun for a while.

Considering I got the game for free, I'm pretty happy with it.

3/5
