Not Your Normal Nintendo Party Game    4/5 stars

If you're thinking this game is going to be like Mario Party, you're wrong. This game is much more like Monopoly, except with added elements and a Nintendo/Dragon Quest feel. You go around a board buying properties and if you get more than one in a specific district, you are able to upgrade and increase prices more. Also, in order to "pass go" and collect more money, you must traverse the board and get all 4 suits (heart, diamond, spade, and club) and head back to the bank. This makes you go around most, if not the whole board increasing the odds of landing on any particular property. An extra element is the ability to buy stock in districts, and you don't try and knock everyone out but instead try to obtain a certain net worth.

There are many, many boards to choose from, all of which are either based off of a Mario or Dragon Quest theme. The characters you select are also from both game series, the music, and so on.

If you have a couple friends who like a game of Monopoly, this game is fantastic. The extra elements add significant depth and strategy to the game which also leads to probably it's biggest downfall. Games easily last a couple of hours or more, and in a multi-player setting, you are unable to save it mid-game. First player is solid, except you tend to think the cpu is cheating because of the ridiculous rolls it gets from time to time. Also, in first player you can save mid-game so that's beneficial.

A pleasant surprise and a solid multi-player game.

4/5
