Congratulations! You've found the blog - sorry, you don't win anything yet. On behalf of Alex, Nelson, Nick and myself, thank you for signing up and taking time to help us out with our video game social networking venture.
If you've already got started and rated and reviewed a few games, that's great. Make sure to update your profile: I want to know what you like, and what you hate. If you think my tastes are terrible, by all means let me know. Feel free to wax poetic on the latest games, or if you've been out of the loop for awhile (like Alex), dig deep into those memories when games came on cartridges, not discs.
Whatever your pleasure, have fun with it! Start up discussions, make some lists, and give us your feedback. If you give us your time, you just might walk away with a new game to call your own. Details of the contest are below: it's formal, but also important, so please read over the rules at your leisure.
Rules and Regulations:
1) This contest is open to all people who sign up on MeltedJoystick, maintain their account and participate on the site. Owners and operators of the site (Alex, Chris, Nelson and Nick) are ineligible for the prize.
2) The contest will run from Saturday March 12, 2011 through Sunday March 27, 2011.
3) Points are awarded for rating games, writing reviews and creating lists. Please visit the Points Page for more information on earning points.
4) If, at any time, it is determined that one account is being used by multiple people over the course of the contest, in order to maximize point totals, that account will be ineligible for the contest.
5) All user-submitted reviews and lists will be checked for quality. Blatantly unhelpful reviews (i.e. "this game is great") or any lists created containing no games will not count toward the point total.
6) At any time during the contest, you can see your progress by visiting the Members Statistics Page. While this list is updated in real time, it does not necessarily reflect the "official results" for the contest (see #4 and 5 above).
7) At the conclusion of the contest, the person with the highest point total will be contacted by the email provided when you signed up on MeltedJoystick, and will be awarded the following prize: One (1) game from any current or past video game system that does not exceed $60 in price (before taxes).
