The United States has fallen, along with 90% of the human race. Four years after the event of Resistance 2, former Sentinel Joseph Capelli is now in hiding, all but given up on fighting the Chimera. Yet when Dr. Fyodor Malikov returns from his seeming suicide, he brings a weapon he claims can turn the tide for humanity. Leaving his family behind, Capelli travels the dangerous road from Oklahoma to New York, hoping he can spare the remnants of humanity.
