This SNES version of the precursor to the genre defining classic Doom is disappointing thanks to blocky, ill-defined graphics that make enemies almost impossibly to distinguish from the background, samey locations, bizarrely inappropriate music and a general lack of atmosphere. You could blame the limitations of the hardware, but Zero Tolerance, Duke Nukem and Bloodshot for the "technically inferior" Genesis are all much better than this. |
