Interesting little RPG from Squaresoft based upon the Secret Of Mana game engine set on an alternate world and featuring a Marty McFly like boy and his dog. Not a game changer, but it makes a nice change from the usual wizards and elves formula.

While it won't go down as the greatest RPG ever, I found it to be a pretty good original enterprise. It had the interesting component of gathering ingredients for "alchemy" and a barter system for items. Often compared to the superior Secret of Mana, this stands on its own, if doesn't quite stand out in the crowd.
One of the biggest RPG disappointments of all time for me for the SNES, this game was adequate but leaves a bitter taste in the mouth of anyone that was hoping for another Secret of Mana. It uses a lot of the menus and control systems as Mana, but the shallow story and contrived and cameo appearances from other Squaresoft classics makes this one feel more like a last ditch effort by the company to squeeze a few more dollars from it loyal customers.
