Great Boxing on an Extinct System

I like to think this game is much like Punch-Out!! for the NES, only with a robotic twist to it. When you go up against an opponent, you only see your two hands and the other boxer. The "Virtual Boy" 3D makes this game particularly more intense since the attacks appear to be coming right at you.
You fight 8 different robots as you climb to the top, and it's pretty enjoyable along the way. Each opponent has its strengths and weaknesses giving you a different challenge each time.
Another reason I think this ranks up there with Punch-Out!! is the play control, because in many ways it's better. In order to defend different types of punches, you either have to defend up or down. You have the ability to do a normal jab, a body jab, an uppercut, and either a left or right hook. They took advantage, suprisingly, of the Virtual Boy's controller layout by using each D-Pad for each hand and a punch using the 'L' or 'R' button.
All of this along with a much needed save feature so you don't have to get a huge headache beating the game in one sitting makes this an enjoyable boxing game. Unfortunately since the Virtual Boy tanked so bad, many gamers never did get a chance to experience it.
