Mortal Kombat almost challenged Streetfighter 2 for the beat 'em up crown back in the day, but time has not been so kind to it.thanks to the ugly, grainy graphics and extremely shallow gameplay. |

I can't say why Mortal Kombat was ever so popular back in the day other than the promise of violence. Looking back, it almost seems quaint - these fatalities and bloody battles. It caused quite an uproar and for no good reason. I would much rather stick to Street Fighter for my button mashing needs. |
