Synopsis:

A highly secretive organization in New York finds itself under siege by an otherworldly force. You find yourself forcibly assigned as the new director as you struggle to regain control. A sprawling building in New York opens to a vast, diverse world - and you will have to combine supernatural abilities with upgrades to navigate this shifting reality. Your powers can be used to affect the environment and architecture around you - utilize your powers to destroy or manipulate and turn the tide.

Use It Before You Lose It

Remedy Entertainment has dipped their toe into a lot of genres but are known mainly for two major series: Alan Wake and Max Payne. Control is tangentially related to Wake's story (in fact an entire DLC is dedicated to this link) but owes most of its influence from the SCP Foundation - a community wiki that describes various paranormal, supernatural, and other mysterious phenomena that often take the form of both fantastical and mundane objects/creatures and covers several genres but mostly leans towards sci-fi and horror. Control's main group, the FBC (Federal Bureau of Control) is directly inspired by the SCP as well as several of the objects you encounter throughout the game.
