Synopsis:

The sequel to the hit RPG returns with a new story - the Divine are gone, the Void approaches and the powers, long dormant, awaken within you. The non-linear story let's you talk or kill anyone, take on a variety of quests and missions, speak to animals, even interact with ghosts. Play online with up to four people or local co-op in splitscreen. Choose from 6 origin characters or create your own - human, lizard, elf, dwarf or undead. Master 200 skills across 12 skill schools. Master the battlefield utilizing elemental combinations and taking the high ground. All-new Story Mode provides a more laid-back experience for those who enjoy narrative over combat.

Still Divine for a Second Time

After thoroughly enjoying the first Divinity game as a two-player experience at home, it was time to expand things online with all my friends. Larian Studios have really shined with Divinity and it continues with Divinity II, which is pretty much bigger and better in about ever sense of the word - and not just in size, but in quality. And while some of the changes may not necessarily be for the better - nothing was broken along the way and the scope of the story, characters and the world has been greatly expanded making up for any questionable mechanics in my eyes.

Looks and Stuff: It's not that the first game looked bad - it was just a bit rough around the edges. Divinity II smooths all those edges out and presents a truly and fully fleshed-out game, both in environments, enemies and ...

The folks at Larian Studios have really made a name for themselves over the course of the last few years. From their earliest roots in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, the Belgian studio went from an Indie outfit barely able to secure the backing of any Publisher, to a relatively consistent producer of B-rate PC gaming fodder, to a Kickstarter success story, to the new premier studio for official D&D-based cRPGs.
