Looks Great but Hollow Inside

Disappointing entry in the FF series. While it looks fantastic, that's really the high point for the game - there's not much exploration (until very late in the game) and the straight-forward nature really hurts it. The lack of towns and interaction makes it feel robotic and the numerous cut scenes, while pretty, bog the game down more than anything. I'm not willing to call this a complete disaster, but it could have been so much more. Considering how much time and effort went into this, the finished project did not measure up. Hopefully next time around they can get back what they captured in XII.
