I was wondering if you plan to add PC games to melted joystick or is this outside the realm of the site? |

PC games are a huge mess dating back aaalll the way back to the beginning of gaming. The problem with them is that they span a wide array of operating systems and, now, digital platforms. If it was as simple as adding a platform and being done with it, we might consider it. But since the site's focus is console gaming AND adding PC games would be an insane labor commitment, I doubt we'll be adding them. |

To put it another way and support Nelson's post: Think of it this way - the average system has anywhere from 300 - 1200 games to its name, depending on how long it has been out and how popular it was. Since the realm of "PC games" encompasses, well, everything, it would have more games than every system combined and even if you divided them between MAC and standard PC, it would still be a tremendous effort. I've enjoyed plenty of PC games, but we're sticking strictly with consoles. |

We're not even talking about dividing between Mac and PC, here, Chris. We're talking about:
DOS (probably multiple versions) Windows 3.X Windows 9X Windows XP Windows Vista/7 MacOS Mac OSX Linux Amiga
And probably a whole slew of other obscure OSes that I forgot about. Not only are there a ton of games here, it begs the question of "where do you draw the line?" Would we include freeware games? Crappy Japanese homebrew dating sims?
MeltedJoystick is a site by console gamers for console gamers. |
